At the Clute Volunteer Fire Department banquet on January 5, 2004 the C.V.F.D Auxiliary made a special presentation to two very special people in the memory of a wonderful lady. Shirley Solis, was one of the founding members of the original Auxiliary.   And it was her memory that inspired Rebecca Clements to form our current Auxiliary.  In August of 2001, after a tough battle with cancer, Shirley passed away.  The Auxiliary presented a special plaque to Andrew SolisJr. and Andrew Solis III in memory of Shirley Solis. May her legacy continue through our work!  The Auxiliary has also decided to carry this on in the years to come. At the 2005 Banquet we will begin presenting the Shirley Solis Memorial Award, which will recognize The Clute Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary Member of the Year

The plaque was presented to Andrew Solis III by Rebecca Clements and MaryNell Vintila.  It was truly an emotional moment.
